What time are we back?

The duration of the trip varies nightly, ranging from 5 to 9 hours. 

Every night, our team does our best to maximize our guests' chances of seeing the northern lights based on knowledge and experience. Depending on the environmental conditions, this may involve driving to the nearby island of Kvaløya, about an hour away, or heading inland towards the Finnish border, which requires significantly more travel time. Weather conditions and solar activity also affect the tour’s duration as we search for clear skies to provide the best views of the lights. On some nights, we may have clear skies but low activity, requiring patience as we hope for increased solar activity.
Generally, we aim to keep tours manageable in length, with departures at 18:00 and returns between 00:00 and 02:00.

We also offer an Express Aurora Hunt. This tour's duration is around 4 hours, as the furthest we go to see the Aurora is about an hour away from Tromsø center. This tour departs at 20:00 and the group returns to Tromsø city centre around midnight.
